The IntelliCAD Network

Hi,
Last week I was at the ODA conference (Open Design Alliance) and I discovered that BricsCAD and ZwCAD created their own versions of ARX (AutoCAD's object oriented development platform). BricsCAD calls it BRX and ZwCAD will probably call it ZRX because the name DRX is claimed by the ODA, who also developed an ARX version.

Why are these guys not joining there development efforts instead of each one creating such complicated software by there own?

And where exactly is IntelliCAD in this?

Siem,

I already have the ZRX SDK. However, I am curious to know where it is available for download at www.zwcad.org. Their web site is a bit is a mess and I cannot seem to find it.

Hi all,

Today ZWSOFT China made their ZRX available for testing. It is supposed to be a good alternative to AutoCAD's ARX.

ZRX is part of ZWCAD 2010 Professional Beta, which can be downloaded from www.zwcad.org.

Please, have a look at it and let me know your experience.

had a quick look, seems to work fine with the provided samples, but when I tried to make a build of one of my ARX apps I get an error

Command: APPLOAD
Initializing SQLite
UnKnown extension application file
C:\Dev\Projects\SQLiteLsp\SQLiteLspZ10\Debug\SQLiteLspZ10x32.dll loaded failed!

I'll have a closer look when I have more time

Hello All, The IntelliCAD Technology Consortium (ITC) recognizes the danger posed by the distribution of member developed API libraries that are not binary compatible with the libraries distributed and supported by the ITC. IntelliCAD customers and application developers must have confidence that applications developed to run one member's IntelliCAD based product will run on another's.

At the ITC’s 2009 annual board meeting in Leiden, The Netherlands, the ITC passed a resolution that requires that any commercial member distributing software based on IntelliCAD R7 licensed materials must distribute the API libraries supplied as part of those licensed materials. ITC members may create new APIs and distribute those with their applications but they must not distribute versions of IntelliCAD R7 API libraries containing modifications to the ITC APIs. The ITC will maintain binary compatibility with the ODA’s DRX API and will offer extensions as part of its IRX API.
