I guess Bricsys can also implement a quick and dirty read/write DWG 2010 compatibility just for the sake of offerring one. But I guess they want to do that with DWGdirect 3.x, which is way more than just a DWG read/write library.

Interesting - Bricscad doesn't support AutoCAD 2010 files while IntelliCAD based products (at least some e.g. progeCAD 2010) do support AutoCAD 2010 files!

ITC Terminates Bricsys Membership

Jeff Ray on Settlement with Autodesk

I just wrapped up my one-on-one meeting with SolidWorks CEO Jeff Ray. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss (to the extent that we could) the recent settlement that SolidWorks had with Autodesk on the law suit regarding DWG, orange rectangles and a bunch of other related stuff. Bricsys Leaves ITC

It's official. Bricsys has left the building. According to this press release, they have finally snapped ties with the ITC and have officially left the organization. When I visited Gent (Belgium) in April last year, Bricsys CEO Erik de Keyser spoke to me at length about the many reasons why Bricsys had begun parallel development of a new CAD system based on the ODA platform.
