Looks like its Autodesk's turn to do an Alibre. Someone on Twitter asked me:
heard abt Autocad's reduction in China from 35000 RMB to 6000 RMB? this move is believed to last till Jan.2010. any opinion?
That's allegedly a whopping 82% discount. Check out this page on the Autodesk China web site. I don't understand Chinese and neither could I find an English page explaining this offer. So if someone can make sense of this offer, I would appreciate it you left a comment explaining it. From what I am given to understand, the numbers on the banner are part of a countdown clock.

"Autodesk's turn to do an Alibre" -- uh well -hardly - Alibre $99 was a closeout on version 11 which was available in any country with a participating reseller (like CADDIT in Australia). 80 days to "get legal" looks more like some kind of attempt at a Chinese amnesty program:
"(AutoCAD) has over 90% of the computer aided design (CAD) market in China, but sales are virtually non existent due to the widespread acceptance of software piracy in that country."

This page is about the new promotion program of Autocad 2010 in China. It will end in 80 days.(You can find it in the meter)
According to the plan, the new user who buy the professional version of the following products before the deadline(80 days after) can enjoy the discount price which is really cheap. For example the AutoCAD 2010 only 6000 RMB and AutoCAD LT 2010 only 2000 RMB.
These price is recommend by Autodesk, each of the agent can decide the final price. So the customer need to contact the agent first.
